Why Choose Us
Discover a nurturing environment for your little ones at Early Steps Day Care centre. Early Steps Daycare Nursery provides day care for children between the ages of 9 months to 5 years.
Our nursery has been split into two separate rooms. Our Infant Room (catering to children from 9 months to 24 months) and our Toddler Room (ages 2 years to 5 years). Each room is specifically designed to cater to the needs of the children within.
Our nursery has a nappy changing area as well as ‘child’ sized toilets to encourage self-care and independence for our toddlers.
Infant Room
More commonly referred to as the Green Room, is designed to allow our little learners with room to explore and learn. Here our children have the opportunity to move and explore as well as develop their gross motor skills and fine motor skills. Activities are designed to foster independence as well coordination to prepare our little learners for the toddler room.
Our ethos being, allowing our learners to lead the activities and thereby allowing our staff to nurture their learning through their curiosity and interests.
Toddler Room
Within the Toddler Room, (also known as our blue room), our children can enjoy a more spacious environment allowing for mobility and exploration. Theres so much for the children to explore and engage in. This room is specifically designed to foster the 7 areas of learning as set by the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) guidelines and development requirements, ensuring that every interest and activities the child engages in is related to 7 areas of learning.
Quiet Room
Within our quiet room, children are able to retreat to when they feel overwhelmed or overloaded by the sensory input from their immediate environment. In this room they are able to have time and space to calm their sensory systems and take control of their emotions again.
Outdoor Play
We have a garden (with a canopy) in the rear of our nursery, offering shelter from wet weather during winter. As well as a more spacious outdoor area at the front of our nursery where children can engage with the mud kitchen as well as the sand based activities. Our outdoor facilities allow our children the opportunity to engage in wet and messy play, as well as an opportunity to engage in physical activities.. The front outdoor area allows our children to interact with our plantlife as well as take turns to water them, exposing them to nature and growth cycles of plants.
We are also fortunate enough to be located within walking distance of Spitalfields Farm, which is open weekdays. Our children enjoy visiting the farm and learning about the different types of animals that live there.
Meals
Our children receive nutritious meals that are cooked onsite. With a variety of food differentiating when necessary for our children with allergies or cultural preferences. Our children enjoy eating together and have the wonderful opportunity to socialise, use words and to eat independently.
Our staff are qualified in childcare and collaborate together as well-knit team to provide caring conditions which allow our children to strive. Our volunteers work closely with qualified members of staff as well as being provided an understanding of our policies to help them develop their skills. We also aim to ensure all long-term staff members are first aid trained and receive additional training when and where necessary, so they may develop their personal skills and broaden their knowledge in caring for and educating young children.
